The two main methods for getting involved with Marillac Place is through volunteering and donating Donating doesn't have to be money. Everyday people arrive on the front steps of Marillac Place with goods to donate. These tend to clothes for the mothers and babies, toys and small household items. Often when a Mother is ready to move out on her own she will not have he simplest of household goods such as pans and plates. Please feel free to come by the house to drop off  items you wish to donate directly to the mothers, infants and Marillac Place.

To Donate financially please see the DONATE NOW buttons on this page, to learn about volunteering read on.

What do individual volunteers do at Marillac Place?

Volunteers provide a wide range of services, from helping sit babies to updating mailing lists. Many of our volunteers work directly with our children and young mothers, while others provide administrative or functional services. After a consultation specific duties are arranged to match a volunteers interest and skills.

Are volunteer groups welcome?

Yes. Volunteer groups provide valuable experiences for Marillac Place. Adult/youth groups, clubs, service organizations and church groups can participate in our volunteer programs or fundraising activities. While we have a host of current fundraising and volunteer activities we are always interested in hearing more ideas. If you have some thoughts or ideas and want to become involved please let us know.

What are the requirements for volunteering?

A genuine desire to help enable our residents to become successful, productive members of society and assist them to break the generational downward spiral of homelessness and poverty. Since Marillac Place cares for children and young mothers who are often in delicate and confidential situations, we require mature and discreet volunteers.

Regular Volunteer briefing sessions are coming up soon. If you are interested in applying your skills or availability to helping us fulfill our critical mandate please contact us, we would be pleased to provide you with additional information.

Criminal Background Clearance may be required for some volunteer positions. These requirements are necessary for the safety of the residents and their children, as well as the volunteers own protection.
